DIY Lemonade Stand

Lola is finally old enough to show interest in a lemonade stand so I have been so excited to make her one. I wanted to put something together that was easy and could also be used for other things like selling flowers, popsicles etc. I found everything I need at Hobby Lobby and had so much fun putting it together.

Supplies needed:

  • Four wooden crates
  • Two wooden rods
  • Wood piece to be used for banner
  • Nails and hammer
  • Spray paint

Instructions:

  1. Start by spray painting all of your wooden pieces. I used aqua blue but you can use any color you want.
  2. Next, connect wooden crates two by two using your hammer and nails.
  3. Hammer on your wooden rods to the back of the wooden crates.
  4. Attach wooden piece to rods to create your top banner.

5. Have fun decorating it however you want.
6. Make some lemonade and you are ready to go!

Grocery Store Cake Makeover

January 8, 2023

From Grocery to Gourmet

When trying to decide what to do for Lola’s birthday cake this year I decided I wanted to try something new. To be honest I didn’t have the time or money to do a big fancy cake this year so I started thinking how I could make things easier. After some brain storming, I had a great idea! I went to my local smiths and bought a pre made cake from the bakery and got to work. My goal…? Turn this simple cake into a customized birthday cake for Lola. I actually loved how it turned out and it saved me so much time and money!

Ingredients:
  • Double-layered grocery store cake
  • Buttercream frosting
  • Offset spatula
  • Sprinkles
  • Strawberries
  • Candles
Instructions:
  1. Start buy taking the frosting off of the cake. I used an offset spatula. Be careful to not take anything else off besides the frosting.
  2. Cut each layer into 2- making four layers total.
  3. Add a layer of buttercream (I have linked the recipe I used) onto the first layer of cake. Create a dam with the frosting to help hold strawberries in place.
  4. Add strawberries.
  5. Continue steps 3 and 4 for the remaining cake layers.
  6. Cover your new four-layered cake in frosting, adding any designs or decorations.
